About TOFYS

TOFYS is a youth group which advises the Park Ridge Youth Commission in its planning of youth programs and activities for youth in the community.


Any high school student who is a resident of Park Ridge or attends a Park Ridge High School may become a member of TOFYS. The group meets every regularly. Meetings are informal with members discussing upcoming events, current youth issues or planning additional service projects.


Students:

  • Advise the Youth Commision
  • Participate in Youth Forums
  • Assist in Park Ridge Recreation and Park District programs
  • Sponsor annual Teen Volleyball Tournament with Aldermen and the Police and Fire Departments
  • Become involved in local issues which impact youth
  • March in the Memorial Day Parade
  • Assist Maine Township with the Food Pantry and Toys for Tots projects
  • Offer service to the community
  • Most of all, have fun

The officers of the group are high school students elected for the positions of co-Presidents, who also serve as Youth Commissioners, as well. There are also Chairmen of activities and committees serving in leadership roles.
